What a crazy week ... finished module 2 and on to module 3!
I enjoyed the articles and related to each one.
MILLER (2005) Library 2.0 is an attitude ... this made sense to me .. there is so much out there on the web .. .we have to connect it all in our libraries .. or at least let the users do that too.I agree a libraries' role is to serve the community, connect the information... it's about taking the information to the people. But how is that possible at my school? Let me get back to you on that as we are very traditional ... it is keeping me awake at night so thoughts are coming!!
CASEY (2006) - "The heart of Library 2.0 is user centred change" ... agree totally!!
The words constant and purposeful change kept repeating. Change is not well liked in most places so this again proves for interesting thinking!What was encouraging was at the end of the article ...
"Many tools and ideas will come from the world of Web 2.0, and many will have nothing to do with technology. The specifics of the Library 2.0 model will be different for each library system. Every library has a different starting point. Through collaboration between staff and users, you will be able to develop a clear idea of how this model will work for your organization."
AMEN!!!
SCHRIER (2011) - As discussed online (FB) with Amy, many folk just aren't aware of the digital resources in a school. we need to work on this.
