Abram (2007)
Web 2.0 is all about interaction.People are looking for a deeper "user experience".They are using RSS, wikis, instant messaging, podcasts, folksonomies and tagging.
The librarian 2.0 is the guru of this information age, looking at the opportunities, tools, how to connect people to technology and information in respect to context. Thus they understand their users deeply.
Harvey (2009)
We need to find the right technology that will connect users to the resources they need, whether cloud tags, YouTube, podcasting or blogs ... it must be relevant to them.
Partridge, Lee, Munro (2010)
They concur and discuss the fact that libraries need to "facilitate people to participate, interact and create, to provide the means for that to happen" (p.120). We need to be a role model using technology with "knowledgeable credibility"., and be willing to keep learning. We need to be visible, able to research and evaluate the process. We need to communicate this to others and collaborate and work as a team. We need to focus on user needs but still be time savvy. We are a leader, enthusiastic and inspirational, flexible, creative and always aiming for excellence. We need to change the way we and others think.
